Data Collection Methods

Telephone interviews (CATI)

Our heart beats in the telephone interview center. Our facilities contain a 54 seat telephone interview center (CATI, Computer Aided Telephone Interview). Every day of the year we carry through more than 300 telephone interviews on various target groups. Monitoring the data is possible in any phase of the fieldwork.

Qualitative research

In qualitative researches the information is collected through group discussions and personal in-depth interviews among the customer's most central target groups.

The recruitment of participants within the specified target group is taken care of by specialized professionals. In qualitative research the target groups are defined strictly according to customer's needs.

The excellent location of our facilities in the heart of Helsinki makes the group discussions an personal interviews easy to attend and observing the field work pleasant for our customers. Of course we also do fieldwork in all regions of the country when needed.

Internet

IRONet is on internet-survey system that enables on-line collection through Internet either from a changing of fixed respondent group.

Internet as a data collection method gives several advantages; for example high response rates, faster fieldwork, better reaching of difficult target groups and the possibility to use graphics, video and sound. The main advantage of the method compared to traditional ones are saving of time, cost effectiveness and better quality of open answers.

IRONetPanel is a RECRUITED Internet panel with round 38 500 consumers. All members of IRONetPanel have been recruited specifically for the panel using phone interviews, which means you can not become a member just by registering for the panel. IRONet B-to-B Panel contains 8500 professionals.

When using IRONetPanel as the sample platform, the selected target group receives the research invitations by email. The survey links in the invitations are password protected which enables precise sample control, sending reminders and elimination of double answers. The data collection takes from one day to two weeks, depending on target groups and desired speed of fieldwork. The average time is one week. In this case selected respondents are given 2-3 days to reply, after which reminders are send to the ones that haven't replied.

IRONetPanel can solve almost any traditional survey problem, especially when different images (such as TV advertising, print advertising, outdoor advertisement, packages or logos) must be shown to the respondent. Possible limitations in the representativeness of the sample with respect to the desired target group must however be considered when using the IRONetPanel.
